Time has come and on short notice, as the whiskys have arrived only now. The first tasting 2016 is just around the corner:<\/p>\n

EASTER SINGLE CASK SCOTCH WHISKY TASTING

Tobermory 2008 @ 46 % vol.
\nGlentauchers 1996 @ 46 % vol.
\nSecret 1 \u2013 distilled 1994, bottled January 2016, 49,3 % vol.
\nSecret 2 \u2013 distilled Sept. 1990, bottled January 2016, 48,5 % vol.
\nSecret 3 \u2013 distilled Dec. 1991, bottled January 2016, 54,5 % vol.
\nSecret 4 \u2013 distilled March 1991, bottled January 2016, 55,1 % vol.
\nBlack Gold Glen Garioch 1998, Cask # 3728, bottled January 2016, 57,5 % vol.
\nMacallan 1989, Cask # 6994, distilled 3.5.1989, bottled 30.3.2015, 42,5 % vol.
\nBowmore 1991, Cask # 616, bottled January 2016, 54,9 % vol.<\/p>\n

This time the menu consists of Asian fishsoup followed by lamb scottish style and as dessert apple crumble.<\/p>\n

The contribution fee for the meal and the whisky tasting is for the C\u00e0rn M\u00f2r Society members and their friends \u20ac 48.00 p. P.<\/p>\n

Minimum number of participants: 20, maximum 35, therefore we kindly ask you for a timely notification to office@gillespiepartners.com.<\/p>\n

Easter Tasting was in some way an exaggeration but an good opportunity to taste some appropriate presents for good friends.<\/p>\n

It is almost standard to start the tasting with two C\u00c0RN M\u00d2R Strictly Limited Edition single malt whiskies and with surprise we noticed that the 7 year old Tobermory turned out to be the guest\u2019s favourite beating the 19 year old Glentauchers.<\/p>\n

Both were followed by 4 secrets \u2026
\nSecret 1 \u2013 distilled 1994, bottled January 2016, 49,3 % vol.
\nSecret 2 \u2013 distilled Sept. 1990, bottled January 2016, 48,5 % vol.
\nSecret 3 \u2013 distilled Dec. 1991, bottled January 2016, 54,5 % vol.
\nSecret 4 \u2013 distilled March 1991, bottled January 2016, 55,1 % vol.
\nWhat secrets? Sometimes it is necessary to seduce the single malt whisky aficionados. And to cut a long story short \u2013 all were quite thankful for the little trick. All four whiskies were single grain whiskies:<\/p>\n

Girvan 1994 \u2013 21 years old
\nCambus 1990 \u2013 25 years old
\nStrathclyde 1991 \u2013 24 years old
\nPort Dundas 1991 \u2013 24 years old<\/p>\n

During the tasting the bottles were \u201cmade anonymous\u201c, i.e. you could not see the label and had no idea what kind of whisky this was. Guessing was the immediate reaction \u2013 which region, age, matured in which type of cask?<\/p>\n

Finally, after the secret was disclosed the common opinion was that single grain whiskies deserve a much greater attention than usually granted.<\/p>\n

Then we finished with three C\u00c0RN M\u00d2R stars<\/p>\n
