\nDear Friends of Scottish single malt Whiskies!<\/p>\n

Welcome in the new year!<\/p>\n

Our first tasting this year is headed by the motto \u201eA Scotch Mystery Tour\u201c<\/p>\n

The \u201eScotch Mystery Tour\u201c will take place on Friday, March 10th 2017
\nat s\u2018Baumgarten in Linzer Stra\u00dfe 297, 1140 Wien,
\n(5 \u2013 8 minutes\u2019 walk from U4 station , the trams 52 stops in front of the house)
\nStarting: 18.00 hrs
\nWhisky Tasting starting: 19.00 hrs<\/p>\n

According to the motto – a mysterious line-up:<\/p>\n

9 Scottish whiskies from the regions Highland, Speyside, Islay and the Lowlands, aged from 6 to 28 years<\/p>\n

2 Whiskies @ 46 %
\n1 Whisky @ 55.20%
\n1 Whisky @ 54.70%
\n1 Whisky @ 47.10%
\n1 Whisky @ 50.10%
\n1 Whisky @ 59.70%
\n1 Whisky @ 58.10%
\n1 Whisky @ 58.90%<\/p>\n

All Scottish whiskies will be tasted as number 1 \u2013 9 unaffected by name, age, etc. Don\u2019t worry, There is no need to guess one of the whiskies. Maybe there will develop some lively discussions at the tables. At the end of the tasting the solution takes place.<\/p>\n

The menu to start with will be
\n– Tomato soup with fresh herbs
\n– Chicken on dates and oranges with potatoes wrapped in bacon and
\n– Stuffed baked apple on vanilla and cinnamon
\nVegetarian dishes are available on request.<\/p>\n

The attendance fee for the \u201eScotch Mystery Tour\u201c for C\u00e0rn M\u00f2r Society Members and their friends will be incl. menu \u20ac 48.00 p. P.
\nPlease note \u2013 a minimum number of guests of 25 will be required, the maximum number is 35 guests.<\/p>\n

Big guesswork at the \u201eScotch Mystery Tour on the 10th and 11th of March.
\nNo hidden malignity or plain evilness were hidden in the programme.
\nSurprise \u2013 yes! In particular two blends of malt whiskies bottled at cask strength and two single grain whiskies finished in a \u201cTrockenbeerenauslese\u201d cask (= late harvested sweet wine matured in oak casks) provided by Helmut Gangl of Illmitz, one of the great producers of Austrian sweet wines.<\/p>\n

Throughout the guests have welcomed this new format for a tasting \u2013 if this was due to the excellent food served prior to the tasting has not been finally decided.
\nIn any case, we intend to incorporate this new format in one of our next tastings.<\/p>\n
