A lovely nose with sea spray, peat, rock pools and some orange peel aromas.

The palate is oily and coastal. Expect some seaweed crackers with some salted liquorice. Let it breathe and some fresh pastry notes, a little custard and maple syrup come through.

The finish is warming and mouthcoating with some roasted nuts and charred fruit.

The region Islay Although Islay is part of the Islands it insists on being a Whisky region of its own. Despite the fact that Islay is the smallest of islands of the Hebrides but being home of 8 distilleries with Bowmore the second oldest of the operating distilleries in Scotland emphasizes this exceptional status. The expression of Islay single malt whiskys along with whiskys from the island of Skye is dominated by peat.
